Costume Institute Gala at the MET - NYC

The Costume Institute Gala, held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is the event of the year. This year the theme is Model as Muse.
Even though it was raining outside, all the celebrities reached safely and in style, apart from some of the fashion violators. The host and hostess of the show were Kate Moss and Marc Jacobs.
I will leave you with the pictures.

Victoria Beckham:
Came dressed in a striking silk polka doted mini dress by Marc Jacobs. I hate the very fake tan!

Tyra Banks:
Came dressed in a black beaded strapless gown by Badgley Mischka Couture, the ruffles on the dress give it a very vintage vibe, along with that old school updo.

Rihanna:
Rocking the menswear wearing a full on cropped tuxedo suit by Dolce & Gabanna. She accessorized it with leather gloves a black platform pumps.

Madonna:
She stepped onto the red carpet in a Louis Vuitton outfit and a ridiculous scrunchie on top of her head. The accessorize were hideous, from the fingerless glove to the thigh high stripper boots.

Leighton Meester:
Dressed in a Louis Vuitton printed dress with rosette embellished sleeves and matching leggings. I did not like this at all, Blair Waldorf would not approve of this! It is very over the top.

Kate Moss:
The hostess arrived with her date and co-host Marc Jacobs. She wore an asymmetrical dress by her co-host with a metallic turban and matching pumps. I loved the dress, but the turban has to go!

Kate Beckinsale:
stuns everyone in this embroidered midnight blue ruffle tulle tank dress by Marchesa.

Jessica Alba:
dressed in a blue strapless dress with jewel encrusted top by Jason Wu (Michelle Obama's favorite designer). Accessorized with a hot pink clutch, emerald earrings and a pair of black tights. I love the dress but i feel the tights are not right with it, not for this event at least. I love the make up and the braid though!

Heidi Klum:
voluminous black and blue gown by Gilles Mendel with sheer organza showing off her sexy legs, she arrived pregnant with her 4th child yet still looking beautiful. I think she needs a necklace to go with this dress

Gisele Bundchen:
wearing a shimmery sequined blue mini Versace dress with matching booties. she was accompanied by her hot hubby and a rock on her finger! that is one hot couple.

Eva Mendes:
wearing a V neck Calvin Klein metallic gown, its very simple and pretty with great accessorise that make it look unique.

Eva Longoria:
in a Diane Von Furstenberg dress with a cleavage revealing key hole and a metallic chain necklace. she was accompanied by her hubby monsieur Tony Parker

Diane Kruger:
Wearing a textured white flower short dress by Chanel, it looks great and youthful with her hair in an updo. she accessorized the dress with a black satin clutch and black shoes.

Claudia Schiffer:
wearing a black cut out dress by Versace. it looks very elegant, architectural and artsy!

Ciara:
dressed in a long fitted black Pucci dress with white panels and sequins on the side designed by the new creative director Peter Dundas. It has a huge keyhole revealing her back. I was not a big fan of this dress

Chanel Iman:
The rising model came wearing an animal print Zac Posen dress with a long train. she had her hair in an updo and looked glamorous!

Blake Lively:
In an asymmetrical sheer teal low cut high slit dress, showing off her sexy legs

Anne Hathaway:
Wore a poofy zippered purple dress by Marc Jacobs. the dress is not bad but I'm not feeling the hair!

So what do you think of the dresses? Which are Yay's and which are Nay's?

  1. Giselle rocked it, even though I don't think the shoes suit. Other than that I think everyone looked a bit overdoned or too simple. No one shined.
